The world wide web is a bloated hot mess and is broken beyond repair. However, alternatives exist built on open standards and simplicity like Gemini, which was created in 2019 and inspired by the Gopher protocol, which you learned about in my last video. So the Gemini protocol is a simple text-based alternative designed for those who are tired of the web's crazy user tracking, obnoxious ads, and the growing need for more computer power and resources to serve simple content. So think of Gemini as the web stripped to its very essence or just text and images with privacy in mind. So for content creators who write stories, articles, blogs, and recipes in the Gemini format, their end user would be served this content in a non-commercial, non-stylized design in which the reader will have control of the style and color scheme they wish to view the content.
